Bush declares "mission Accomplished" |
May 1st 2003: President George W. Bush declares mission accomplished to
the united states of America in a very inspiring speech just two months after
declaring they were going into Iraq. What really happened though was that bush
and a team of men walked into Iraq, tore down a statue of Saddam and captured a
city. HE then continued to fly over Iraq and America with a plane labeled
mission accomplished. The fact is that the mission was not “accomplished”.
Saddam was not captured nor killed and soldiers had not been pulled out of Iraq
at all. When people and the media confronted Bush criticizing him and asking
why he said these things, he stated that it was a “mistake” and that it was no
the message they were trying to portray. This is important because it is a
major part of Bush’s career and ended up being a big morale crusher for the
American people and troops.
